Toronto Blue Jays to bring popular Winter Tour to Halifax in January

HALIFAX—The Toronto Blue Jays are bringing their popular Winter Tour to Halifax in 2019.

The Major League Baseball club announced on Tuesday that Halifax will be the landing spot for the Blue Jays tour on Friday, Jan. 11 and Saturday, Jan. 12.

The two-day stop is part of the Blue Jays ninth-annual Winter Tour event. Toronto last visited Halifax as part of the tour in 2012.

It’s not known which current or former Blue Jays are coming to Halifax, but planned visits include the IWK Health Centre in Halifax, CFB Halifax, a ticketed autograph session at Pier 21 and an amateur baseball clinic in partnership with Baseball Nova Scotia.

To land tickets for the autograph session, fans must enter into an online lottery at bluejays.com/wintertour. The site also includes full event details for the two days in Halifax.

The lottery opens Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. and closes Dec. 5 at 10:59 p.m. Those selected for the autograph session will be chosen by random draw and notified by email on Dec. 7 if they were successful.

The cost to attend the autograph session will be $5 per ticket, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Jays Care Foundation.
